If asked why he practices yoga, Michael’s answer is always: because it feels good.  He sums up his whole practice in six words:  ” Breathe in slowly, breathe out slowly. “

Michael teaches traditional Hatha Yoga and meditation classes to students of all ages and abilities.  He also teaches trainings for yoga teachers to further their own development, as well as Hatha Yoga and philosophy in 200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher trainings.  Michael always teaches from his foundation of classical Hatha Yoga, adding gentleness, challenges and humour, when necessary, to help students along their path.

Michael’s first yoga class was in 1998, at the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Montreal, after a chance meeting with a teacher on a street corner.  While he did not like it at all, and could not sit nor lie still, the benefits were already very clear and he finished the 5 week introduction course.  Michael, a natural teacher, started sharing yoga with his friends even while he was in the beginner’s course.

After ten years of internal debate, Michael signed up for the teacher training course at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Camp and never looked back.  He later completed the advanced yoga teacher training course, as well as the Sadhana Intensive Course.  Now Michael has completed the 800hr Yoga Therapy Training and looks forward to offering this healing modality in the coming months. Along with his family, Michael spends over one month each year at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Camp in Val Morin, Quebec, studying and teaching.
