Event Type : Chair Yoga

Learn how to teach a complete yoga class for those who can not access the mat. Practicing in a chair offers students with limited mobility the opportunity to experience the benefits of Yoga. This program will offer you the tools to help students build strength, awareness and confidence and to increase their mental and physical well-being.

Other topics taught include anatomy of aging, yoga philosophy and aging, tools for communicating with a population that often has limited hearing and sight, chair yoga for office workers, working with students living with dementia and other physicalémental challenges and how to approach retirement homes and community centers. While designed for yoga teachers, those who work regularly with the elderly or wish to share yoga with loved ones can also benefit from this training. The course will count as 20 hrs credit for continuing education with the yoga alliance. Students receive a 50 page manual with images.

This course qualifys for 20 CEU’s with Yoga Alliance, which includes personal daily yoga practice/classes and time spent at AM and PM satsang.
